We’ve got our first teaser trailer for Andor, and a release date! And while the clip is short on detail, it packs a lot of ominous tone into a few short scenes.
The first clip shows us flashes of what seem to be multiple pockets of Rebellion fighting a stark, but tastefully lit, Empire. We get a few glimpses of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor, along with some communities seemingly hiding from the Empire’s forces, and a pensive-looking Mon Mothma.
The showrunner, Tony Gilroy, has confirmed that the 12-episode first season will premiere on August 31st, with a second season already greenlit to begin shooting in the fall. The show will unfold about five years before the events of Rogue One.
Luna will be joined by Stellan Skarsgard, who, OK, we all know Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, who played Dorothy in Emerald City and Anathema in Good Omens, along with roles in Pacific Rim: Uprising, and…oh. Morbius. Genevieve O’Reilly will be back as Mon Mothma, and Denise Gough will, I hope, be playing Harper Pitt again, but in SPACE.
OK that last one probably won’t happen. Andor will foment rebellion on Disney + starting on August 31st!
